`Ike Pono: Music

Mo'olele

Words & Music: Edwin "Ned" Lindsey Sr.

STAN: "Being stationed in Germany was one of the greatest times of my life. It was there that I connected to my love for the ukulele and passion for the music of Hawaii. It’s amazing how all the people who came from the Pacific all sort of congregated in one place and this wonderful family, the Woodwards, took me in as their hanai son. Through them, and the encouragement of the Alonzo’s, and Pedrina’s, I attended a rehearsal for a traveling Polynesian show made up of service men and women and the rest is history. This is one of the songs that we played during our “jam sessions” and every time I sing it, these incredible memories flash back to those amazing times."

MO`OLELE

E holoholo kakou ma ka wa`a kaulua, Mo`olele ‘o Lahaina,

Mo`olele, Mo`olele, ha`aheo kou hele ana,

Kou pe`a kia kahi, piha i ka makani,
